Celebrating 25 Years

St. Baldrick’s started as a grassroots effort 25 years ago, driven by people who believe in helping kids with cancer.

National Partner

Shave ON

Combined over the years, Team Shave ON has raised over $51,000! For three straight years we have had the largest team and we have raised the largest amount of money at the Portland/Vancouver Event.

This year’s event is on Saturday, May 14th, at 1:00 pm at Oaks Park. Everyone who comes to the event, whether a volunteer, shavee, or spectator gets reduced tickets to the Oaks Amusement Park at $9.75 a ticket, and they can ride the rides all day! There will be food for sale at the event along with drinks and beer. We will have tons of raffle prizes including, gift cards, a voucher for any type of Danner Boots, Alaska Airline tickets, and more. We will have live music put on by The School of Rock, and Drew Carney from KGW will be our Emcee. The Portland/Vancouver event goal is 500 shavees this year so we need everyone who is willing to shave their head!

This year we are honoring Ramsey Farrar! Ramsey is a 4 year old son of our co-worker, Joe Farrar!
Ramsey's Story: I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on 02/11/09. My life changed forever that day. I am super strong and brave though and I'm kicking butt...today, I am in remission and doing great!!! I am now 4 years old and in preschool and I love it. I love hanging out with my family, doing puzzles, playing with Cars, watching movies, listening to music (especially TobyMac and Michael Jackson) and just being funny. Some of my favorite things are Mickey Mouse, Lightening McQueen, Woody and Buzz, Alice (Alice in Wonderland), the Mad Hatter, Frankenstein and Baby Einstein movies. I love dressing up as most of them too!

It has been almost 2 years since I was diagnosed and I have just under 1.5 years of treatment to go. It hasn't been easy and I have been through A LOT but I am super strong and brave and I have God on my side! Obviously one of my big passions is finding a cure for my cancer. St. Baldrick's is working with me! They contribute more money per year trying to find a cure for my leukemia then any organization next to the Federal Government. This money comes from you...shaving your head, supporting me in shaving mine or just spreading the word! Please help me, help them find a cure for children's cancers...cancer just like mine. Thank you so much.
