I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Elle

Carter, aka “Super Carter”, is a friend's son who has been fighting Neuroblastoma for the past 2 1/2 years. I still remember the day he told me like it was yesterday. There have been days of joy, like about a year ago when they received news that his cancer was gone. Sadly, though, there have been days lately that no parent should ever have to endure - finding out the cancer has returned and Carter is losing his battle with this horrible disease.

When I reflect about Carter, I’m always brought back to when a group of us went apple picking a few months before he was diagnosed. As we walked around that day, Carter rode on my shoulders picking apples. I’ve been told he had never been up that high before. He had to be picking apples that were at least 6’ off the ground; this is a memory I will cherish forever.

We’ve given money in the past, but this year I have a desire to do something more - so I’m shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! This may not help Carter in his fight, but maybe in time we can find a cure for our future generations. My $2000 goal is just that, a goal; I’m hoping to significantly surpass that mark. I need your help! Please help me by making a donation today.

p.s. since my original post I've increased my goal, nothing like a little challenge. Thanks for all your help.

p.s.s. I've increased my goal again, nothing like a big challenge. Thanks for all the donations.
p.s.s.s. Due the generosity of my family, friends, co-workers & guys I'm forced to golf with every Sunday I've increased my goal again. Thank you so much, it means a lot to me. 2/27/14 Sad day. Carter lost his fight this afternoon.
