Be a hero for kids with cancer!Join this St. Baldrick's event, and whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement. The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.Get involved and you'll be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. My mother, Linda Mouser, passed away from brain cancer on May 1, 2005 and within 30 days I was pregnant with Cole. He was such a blessing. I truly believe he saved my dad’s life by just giving him something to hope for in his time of need. I had many problems through my pregnancy. He was a triplet and I miscarried baby 1 early and baby 2 when I was almost 4 months along. I went into preterm labor on Feb. 7 (my moms B-day) and had him on Feb 22 (my parent’s anniversary). I was never able to do any testing to find out if he would be born with any problems. Even the doctors were concerned on his delivery. He was born about 3 weeks early and healthy as a horse. Cole has, from the day he was born, made everyone fall in love with him. That is his gift. On May 4, 2009 after several doctors’ visits with breathing problems (starting in January 2009) Cole was admitted to Methodist hospital after an X-ray showed a possible enlarged heart. A specialist from UCD looked at the film and wanted to send him to UCD they were full. They called Sutter and got him a bed in the ICU. He was taken by ambulance lights, sirens and all. They ran tests literally all night long. We learned that he had tons of fluid in his chest that had collapsed his left lung (over 600ml almost the size of 2 Pepsi's) and what appeared to be a tumor close to his heart. They did a biopsy which was so scary they were worried his tumor would collapse his airway when under anesthesia. They also did a bone marrow asprite and spinal tap to check if it was cancer if it spread. We learned he had lymphoblastic lymphoma (stage 3). Words just can't explain the way we felt; heartbroken. Cole is beautiful and strong and my hero. We will stand by him or hold him if he can't stand, and fight with him everyday for as long as it takes.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
