So why do I participate? I do this as my very small contribution and recognition of my nephew who was diagnosed with leukemia a few years ago. He is the same age as my own son Ryan. Sam and his family spent way too many months away from home, school, work and fun undergoing extensive treatment. He is now quite well thanks to the medical teams in Iowa where he sought treatment. I shave my head so that other kids like Sam can receive the best treatment possible, wherever they live. Our very own University of New Mexico Hospital has been the recipient of St Baldrick’s grants. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you! I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government.
