My Story

On October 23rd, 2010, at age 17, Janina was diagnosed w/ Osteogenic Sarcoma. What we first thought to be a muscle contusion in her right thigh had turned out to be a cancerous tumor that quickly spread to her lungs and was diagnosed as Stage IV-A bone cancer. She suffered through Chemo and surgeries on her leg and pancreas. What we expected to be a 6-9 month treatment turned into a 15 month battle which Janina handled with remarkable strength, tremendous courage and with an indominatable spirit. A battle that Janina succumbed to on March 20, 2012. Throughout the entire struggle, this ending was not an option, it was supposed to be a happily ever after. But this was not to be and Janina is now an Angel. A part of all our hearts are with her.
