My Story

Devin expresses a maturity level that exceeds many adults. Perhaps he was born with this personality. Perhaps his experience with battling cancer has contributed to his philosophical way of thinking about things. Logic should be Devin's middle name. It's easy for him to figure out the most complex problems. In need, adults will ask him to help solve matters at hand. Devin is a very social young man. He shows no hesitation in walking up to someone at any age to strike up a conversation, and I believe he honestly touches the hearts of people he gets to know. Devin was diagnosed almost ten years ago. It took several years for him to regain his strength to play sports again. He enjoys being part of a team for sports such as football, baseball, and track. He likes to work out at The Y. I think he is in better shape than most 14 year olds around. I know Devin has a very important purpose in this world. We are grateful that he is here to share his intelligence, and kind heart. In the context of the Wizard of Oz...Devin doesn't need to visit the Wizard. He is already blessed with courage, smarts, and a heart of gold.
