A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, sponsored or donated for the event in Romeo this year. We have officially passed our goal of $250,000 and still growing! There is still plenty of time to donate.
Be a hero for kids with cancer!
The Village of Romeo, Mich., will host a St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving event to raise funds and awareness for life-saving childhood cancer research on Saturday, March 10. With a goal of raising $250,000 nearly 350 shavees, 25 of which are women, have registered to shave their heads to prove that it takes everyone to help Conquer Kids’ Cancer!
The Village of Romeo event is one of the top St. Baldrick’s fundraisers with more than 5,000 people coming out to support the more than 500 volunteers that are anticipated to shave by days end. The event will be a full day of activities, including a kid’s games, parade, various live music performances and raffle drawings. Local Romeo St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids, Pietro , Adam, Drew and Noah , will be in attendance. All have experienced their own journeys with cancer and know the importance of raising funds and spreading awareness about the Foundation’s mission.
Why all the shaved heads? St. Baldrick’s is a a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The Foundation hosts signature head-shaving events where volunteers collect pledges to shave their heads in solidarity with kids with cancer while raising money to fund childhood cancer research. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
