Attention: All St. Baldrick's Charity Slots Have Been Filled.
The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is proud to announce that they will be offering 5 charity slots for the world famous 2012 Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon! The triathlon includes a 1.5 mile swim from Alcatraz Island, continuing with an 18 mile bike ride out the Great Highway, through the Golden Gate Park, and concludes with an 8 mile run through the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Every year 2000 competitors take on this challenge; will this be your year?
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government. Since the Foundation’s first grants as an independent charity in 2005, it has funded more than 78 million USD in life-saving childhood cancer research.
Each year 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer. Help decrease this number by registering for the Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon and fundraising for childhood cancer research. We ask that each person that is participating on behalf of the St. Baldrick’s foundation raises a minimum of $2500.00 before the Triathlon takes place.
