We are shaving our heads to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So we decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Now we need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

This hits close to home as our daughter Avery was diagnosed in November 2018 with OMS (Opsoclonus-Myoclonus Syndrome). This is a super rare disorder that affects the nervous system. Part of this diagnosis was the presence of a neuroblastoma, or cancer found in the adrenal gland. Avery had successful surgery to have it removed. She has been in treatment ever since and making some good strides. We are hopeful she will be ringing the remission bell next month.

We are blessed to have come into contact with Anne & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital. After originally receiving a misdiagnosis at another hospital, we took Avery to Lurie Children's in hopes of answers. They found us answers and they have been incredible during her treatment process. Avery went from weekly infusions to monthly, and we have spent many days at the hospital. We have gotten to know many doctors and nurses. The staff there is truly amazing. We have met many families there who are going through difficult battles as well. St. Baldrick's is a chance to take a step in the right direction to raise money for lifesaving research to find cures and improve treatment methods.

You read stuff like this and you don't think it will affect you until it meets you head on. Let's fight the shit out of this (excuse my french) and all childhood cancers out there. Because we will fight and amazing families across the world will continue to fight. Step up and be a part of this battle with us!
