US BTS ARMY is Calling on its Followers to Help Raise Money for Childhood Cancer Research
LOS ANGELES (February 24, 2019) – The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants, is pleased to announce US BTS ARMY and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation are partnering to defy childhood cancers. BTS fan and member of the BTS ARMY, Anja Kloch will be shaving her head on Saturday, March 7 at McMullan’s Irish Pub in Las Vegas, NV.
Anja is a breast cancer survivor and the Chief Executive Relations Officer (CERO) at the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. While Anja was going through her cancer treatment, she was in a treatment room next to a child who was also waiting for their procedure.
“My immediate thought was kids shouldn’t have to battle cancer like an adult does,” said Anja Kloch, CERO from St. Baldrick’s Foundation. “The treatments I endured were excruciatingly painful and to have a child endure similar treatments and surgeries I went through is unimaginable. I’m shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research so that kids like the one I was sitting next to and all kids battling cancer no longer have to fear what’s to come and will have better treatment options.”
This year is especially momentous as Anja shaves her head for her 50th birthday and to honor St. Baldrick’s 20th Anniversary. To help raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer research, Anja is joining forces with US BTS ARMY.
Any BTS fan will be able to tell you who their “bias” or favorite member is of the world-famous K-pop boy band. Anja will be using the side of her head to recognize which member receives the most donations in their name. Donations made on Anja’s participant page and tagged with #RM, #Jin, #Suga, #J-Hope, #V, #Jimin or #JK will be entered into the contest and tracked with regular updates. Whichever member receives the most donations will be the recognized for this event fighting childhood cancer and will be celebrated in a fun way!
