St. Baldrick’s Foundation Thanks Its Thousands of Volunteers During National Volunteer Week

Los Angeles, Calif. (April 8, 2019) – National Volunteer Week is here and the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer and donor powered charity dedicated to funding the best childhood cancer research, is proud to use this observance to show appreciation to its thousands of volunteers from across the U.S. and around the world, who have contributed to the success of nearly 1,000 fundraising events in 2019, resulting in more than $24 million raised so far. Without the continued support of so many, St. Baldrick’s would not be here today as the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants.

For nearly 45 years, National Volunteer Week has encouraged individuals to give back to others and engage in their communities for the greater good. So far this year, more than 40,000 volunteers have given their time, talents, and, in many cases, their hair to help St. Baldrick’s in its mission to conquer childhood cancers. From April 8-12, St. Baldrick’s will share stories of its selfless supporters on the Foundation’s blog and social media channels to acknowledge the army of amazing volunteers who play a crucial role in raising funds to find cures and better treatments for all childhood cancers.

Follow along on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and share your St. Baldrick’s volunteer photos using the hashtag #StBaldricks, #NationalVolunteerWeek and #JoinTheFight.

To date, St. Baldrick’s has granted more than $258 million, supporting the best childhood cancer research, wherever it takes place. Although advances in research have been made, there is still work to be done in the fight against kids’ cancers.

Join the fight. Register. Fundraise. Show-up. Shave. You can help save kids’ lives.
