I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures. I've been blessed to not have any immediate family affected by cancer, but I have had friends affected by cancer. I am organizing a St. Baldrick's Event at my school. I've been so blessed and fortunate that I felt the need to give back. I got involved in high school when one my teachers son passed away from childhood cancer. Last year I had the honor of helping out and this year I have the honor and privilege of being one of the organizers of the event. At some point everyone's lives will be touched by cancer. As health care providers I came into school wanting to make a difference and HERE IS MY CHANCE! I look at it this way, if you're not making someone else's life better, because you're here than what's the point?
