I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

It's that time again, time to shave my head for pediatric cancer research. This is a cause that is near to my heart. My sister had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia when she was three years old, and survived the brutal treatments they had in the late 70's. Although the treatments have become better, there is still much needed research for all of the cancers that a cure has yet to be found. While my wife was working as a pediatric oncology nurse, I had the opportunity to meet several of her patients and their families and to see first hand the fight they were up against, and them never giving up hope. Pediatric cancer research is severely underfunded and this is an awesome way to bring awareness to pediatric cancer, to raise money for research and to help families pay for the treatment their kids so desperately need. This became more clear to me as my niece Lilly completed a course of treatment that was a clinical trial for an Optic Glioma, and she remains stable to this day. If you can donate, please do, as every dollar helps. If you can't donate, come join me on March 15th in Denver and support this amazing cause.
