My name is Karen Peters and I am going BALD to raise money for childhood cancer research.

I sat down with my husband recently, poured him a cup of coffee, and told him that I was considering shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research as part of Borgata’s partnering with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. He looked at me very intently and said, “Karen, if it is something that you really believe in, I think you should do it”.

Do you know that current childhood cancer research is significantly underfunded and of the U.S. Federal funding for cancer research, only 4% is solely dedicated to childhood cancers? Are you aware that worldwide, a child is diagnosed with cancer every 2 minutes and there are more children in the U.S. lost to cancer than any other disease?

I believe that every child should have the opportunity to grow up and turn their dreams into realities.

My original goal was $2500.00.  I am now looking to DOUBLE that amount!  Whether it is $5.00, $10.00, $25.00 or more, every dollar counts towards the big picture.  Please consider making a donation to this worthy cause.
