I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Dearest Friends,

I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

I am doing this in memory of my father that passed away 1 year ago from a glioblastoma, and in honor of the children below and countless others that are fighting this very aggressive brain cancer right now. Glioblastoma multiforme is a stage 4 brain cancer which currently has no cure and has a 30% survival rate of 2 years. Please help me to fund research for treatment and a cure to this horrible disease so nobody has to suffer or watch their loved one fade away and the subsequent loss from this disease.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Please donate within your means, and if you decide to donate, please consider asking your boss if your company provides matching gifts to St. Baldrick’s. If you are not able to donate, please consider sharing this with family and friends that may be inclined to do so.

My plan is to live stream my head shaving on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, on Facebook and Twitter so you can watch from wherever you are. I will announce the time in the coming weeks.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support.

Without Wax,

Rev. Matthew R. Brodeur
