I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: SLU Men's and Women's Track and Field

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: SLU Men's and Women's Track and Field

I started my journey at St. Lawrence with a shaved head, in solidarity with children who do not have the option to, or not to, shave theirs, and that is how I'm going to finish my time here. It is more bittersweet than words, but I want to help children live more freely, and if donations, hair, and baldness can provide that, then let's do it. I am shaving for all the children out there I don't know, who aren't recognized, who can't afford treatment, or who are fearful. Fear is simultaneously real and a construct. It drives us, sometimes. Let it drive you to do something positive, because you can, and because hair will grow back.

Additionally, I choose to shave because I've had a complicated relationship with hair my entire life. I do not want it to shield me from danger or vulnerability, I want it to empower me, and when I shave, I find I rediscover that empowerment most potently. Shaved, I am bare, and in that state I can most readily help people. Please consider donating anywhere from cents to dollars towards this cause! Thank you~
