I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I'm shaving my head to raise money for St. Baldrick's Foundation! There are some really great Childhood Cancer organizations and charities that we support. Here a few of the reason's why St. Baldrick's is one of my favorites:

-St. Baldrick's coordinates research across the nation at many different hospitals. Having all those hospitals and all those kids builds great opportunities.

-St. Baldrick's funds a variety of research to cure childhood cancers AND help survivors! Most children who beat cancer are left with life-long effects, some very serious: hearing loss, heart damage, learning disabilities, neuropathy, seizures, endocrine issues, even secondary cancers caused by treatments (just to name a few.)

-I appreciate their transparency. You can check out on their website and search the grants by type, or location. I have done this, and met some of these doctors. It makes me feel good to actually see that these research grants end up in good hands.

If you know us at all, you know why Childhood Cancer Research is near and dear to our heart. I learned about St. Baldrick's Foundation a few month after Sarah was diagnosed with AT/RT brain cancer. This will be my second year as a shavee. Please consider supporting our event "Jackson MO Goes Bald."
