Hello again!!! I've decided to shave again this year to raise money for childhood cancer research! It will be my third year which means I will have earned the title 'Squire of Hope', which is so exciting to me! Also, my kids and a close friend are really looking forward to getting one of the first swipes with the clippers. It's all fun and games until the kids have the clippers. It's for such a great cause and I love them seeing
If you know me, you know that raising money and awareness for childhood cancer is my passion and I have been active with St. Baldrick's and St. Jude for years. My kids have grown up participating in all of these things as well as my family and friends. I have donated my hair eight times and four years ago, I took that a step further and braved the shave for the first time. It's just hair to me and it grows back. I want to stand in solidarity with those kids who don't have a choice. To show them that it's ok and we are here for them. We need more money for research for CHILDHOOD cancer. Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. Less than 4% of cancer research funding actually goes towards childhood cancers. This is unacceptable. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
You all have been amazing every time and have made me teary and emotional and so proud to have such generous and amazing family and friends in my life! I know I won't be disappointed this time either. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
