Hey y’all! My name is Mandy and this year with my hub, we are raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
The stats for childhood cancer are truly alarming. Each year, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease in the US and 300,000 kids worldwide are diagnosed. In addition, less than FOUR percent of the National Cancer Institute’s budget is allocated for childhood cancer research alone.
As a peds hem/onc nurse, I have the privilege and honor of working with just a handful of these heroes on a daily basis. At the bedside, I am ever reminded of the resilience, strength, and downright bravery that these kiddos have day in and day out.
