I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Seamus was diagnosed with a childhood brain cancer, medullobastoma, in July of 2001. Seamus had surgical removal of the tumor and he underwent chemotherapy and radiation for about 1 year. Seamus was in re-mission for almost 5 years before we found out the cancer was back in 2007. Seamus had another tumor removal surgery and chemotherapy and radiation again while he was in high school. Seamus was "cancer-free" for almost 2 years when the cancer came back again in 2009. At this point Seamus was no longer a candidate for chemotherapy or radiation. He did several rounds of Gamma knife radiation before choosing to explore alternative medical options to fighting cancer.

Seamus was greatly influenced by and used reiki and other forms of energy medicine to treat and control both his cancer and his pain.

Seamus determination to fight his cancer never waivered. Until his last day he never gave up hope. We, his family plan to continue the fight against childhood cancer in his honor.
