We are so excited for this year’s event, the overall Aon Goal is $100,000! My surprise for this year’s event is that my daughter Olivia and son Jacob will be joining in on the fun this year! While Olivia will not be shaving her head all the way down, she has not cut her hair since the event that took place two years ago in which she dontated her hair to locks of love and helped raise money for St. Baldrick’s. Well, it is more than long enough for her to donate her hair again. In addition to Olivia, Jacob has said that he wants to also join in on the fun this year to help raise money for the cause. I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to have both Olivia and Jacob sit next to me in the chair to join in on this family tradition!!!
As many of you have been donating since my first event, it is truly amazing how far this great organization has come in such a short time. To help celebrate these special haircuts, we once again have been contacted by an anonymous individual who has graciously agreed to do a match of what we raise up to a maximum of $10,000 for me, as well as match what Olivia and Jacob raise up to a maximum of $2,500 for each of them! So, with that amazing news, all that is left to be done is to raise some money and get a wee bit taken off the top! With my bald head, I’ll stand in solidarity with kids being treated for cancer. But that’s not the main reason. Most important, I’m doing this to raise money for life-saving research.
You can count on this donation being used responsibly. The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives. Your support makes you an important part of the world’s largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. The St. Baldrick’s has funded more than $200 million in research since 2005!
