I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hello friends.

Here I am. A hairdresser.  And I'm making the choice to shave my head to raise awareness for childhood cancer, and more importantly, to raise money to fund research for childhood cancer.

And I'm making this choice because there are so, so many children who don't have that choice.

They're losing their hair, because every day, while I do mundane things like laundry and paying bills, they're spending their precious childhood years that should be full of fun and giggles, and free of worries, fighting for their lives.

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.

Please read sweet Mira's story below.  It shatters my heart that brave Mira and her family had to endure such pain, and I want to do my part to make sure that other children don't have to suffer a similar fate.

But I need your help. Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

It's easy to donate here on my fundraising page.  If you are unable to help financially, you can still spread the word by sharing my page on your social media accounts, and maybe even going old school with an email share or two!

I will be shaving my head on my 29th birthday, March 26, 2016, and I'll be setting up a periscope account and live broadcasting, so that everyone who donates can participate in the event live, no matter where you live!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to reach my goal of raising $1200 dollars, every penny of which will fund research focused specifically on finding a cure for childhood cancers.
