I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
On June 24, 2010, I uploaded a video of me shaving my head to YouTube in support of my dear friend Nancy Valdez. She was in stage 4 and the prognosis wasn't good. She was loosing her hair and was feeling kinda low. I knew I had to step up! I shaved my head so that she didn't have to feel alone. While she may have been in San Antonio, Tx and I in Atlanta, I knew it was the right thing to do.. I kept my head shaved for about 6 months.
Dear Nancy lost her battle a year and a half later. I see this opportunity to support children battling cancer as a small gesture to honor my dear friend!
I know Nancy is proud right now! I miss her! Ti amo mi Amiga Bonita!
Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
