I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

In May of 2013 I had the honor to meet a spunky, fun-loving and very wise 8-year-old, Norah June Mastrandea, and her wonderful parents Colleen and John. For 6 months I followed this family as a reporter. Norah June died in October. For The News Leader, a daily paper in Staunton, I wrote "Losing Norah." newsleader.com/losingnorah As a person, I found lifelong friends in the Mastrandeas, and a passion to fight for more childhood cancer research. So I have decided to shave my head in March and raise as much money as I can for St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U. S. government. Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
