I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Hi everyone! I am shaving in honor of, and in the memory of, my son Scott Buehler. February 27th was the 5th anniversary of his death. I combined my first visit to Aubrey & Mike Diffoot, my daughter & son-in-law, who are also shaving, for the St Baldricks event in their hometown of Westminster, Colorado. For those who don't know Scott's story, St Baldricks was one of his favorite charities. He first shaved 11 years ago in the first St Baldricks event organized by our dear friends Sandy and Chris Willson-White in Redondo Beach, CA; shaving in memory of their son Zack, who died of cancer when he was five. Scott died just before his 28th birthday while rescuing a young cat from a 50-foot-tall cypress tree. He was home from work due to a strained back, but felt much better; so he put on his boots and gloves, and climbed up about 40 feet. Scott put the kitten safely in his backpack; but while climbing down, a muscle spasm caused him to lose consciousness. He fell and was killed instantly. (Yes, the cat survived.) St Baldricks is even more special to me now, for outliving your child is a pain that truly can't be described. On this, Scott's 5th anniversary, I want to something extraordinary to celebrate his boundless love of life: I am finally living up to my promise to Scott to go bald for St Baldricks! I've wanted to several times, and had told him I would; but before long, I'd lose my nerve... Well, not this year: I'm going all the way! This is my one shot at St Baldrick's, so… PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DONATE : ) whatever you can, and support my cause! THANK YOU! Elizabeth~ . . . Aka “Mimaw” . . . Aka “Scott’s Mom”
