A number of years ago a dear friend was diagnosed with Leukemia, his name is Alan. He changed his entire life to create a change in his health. I got to know him and his wife through a dedication to practice Tai Chi every week to help bring peace to the changing environment that we were experiencing. After chemo and many travels to doctors, he was successful in experiencing remission that lasted maybe a year and then unexpectedly the counts came back unfavorably and off to the hospital for more chemo he went. A couple of days before relocating back to Lexington, I was able to visit with him and his wife and talk of times of travel to China and shenanigan's of a younger life of getting through the Iron Gate when westerners were not allowed. He spoke to me with a light in his eyes of happiness, and I left him with a gift of tea from China. It was only a month after that visit that he passed on. I dedicate this act of fundraising to mine and my friends memory of Alan. I know he is helping us to help create a change for the future of our children, so they can possibly travel to China and have that light in their eyes. Because of my friendship with Alan;
I've answered the call to be a hero! I'm having my head shaved to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer, but more importantly, to raise money to find cures.
Please support me with a donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. This volunteer-driven charity funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Your gift will give hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers. So when I ask for your support, I'm really asking you to support these kids. Thank you!
