After years of Mr. John Bender chasing my full head of hair I have finally agreed to give in and shave my head for the “cause”! It seems John was not going to let me get away with simply raising roughly $50,000 for two other brave shavees and being an annual supporter of St. Baldrick’s. Oh no, he needed to add my head to his list of conquests as well. John, along with my colleague Kevin Abramson, himself a childhood cancer survivor, has finally worn me down and I have agreed to donate my head to the “cause”.
While I plan to join the St. Baldrick’s Team this year, I did put a tall order on Kevin, my primary fund raiser when I told him the price for my head was a minimum of $100,000 raised. In order to help me reach this goal, I ask that you dig down deep and be as generous as you can possibly be in supporting this exceptional charity. Not so I can reach my fundraising goal but so together we can help make a difference in the future for hundreds of thousands of courageous children who sacrifice far more than money in their daily battle against cancer. I know that the economy has taking a tremendous financial toll on many of us at this time but I think our monetary losses pale in comparison to what these young kids and their families face on a daily basis. Your generosity can bring these young children a gift that most of us take for granted, the chance for a clean bill of health.
Since it was founded over ten years ago, the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has raised over $100,000,000 to fund life saving research projects and support the dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to find new and encouraging treatments for childhood cancers. Thank you for your help and generous gift as we do our part to help continue the St. Baldrick’s tradition of funding promising research projects and, more importantly, giving the gift of hope to thousands of young cancer patients.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization so tax exempt donations can be made directly to the St. Baldrick’s website via the below link, by calling 1-888-899-BALD or also by check, made out to The St. Baldrick’s Foundation (these can be sent to me or directly to the foundation).
