I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Lily Bean

On the afternoon of August 29th, 2017, my daughter Lily was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. She turned two years old, three days later. Lily underwent three rounds of intense chemotherapy, spent endless months in and out of the hospital due to complications and side effects of her disease and then endured a stem cell transplant on January 3rd, 2018. We are hopeful each day this is and will be the cure to her disease.

As we unfortunately and quickly learned about AML, it became very apparent that the St. Baldrick's was one of the only foundations to research and help fund Lily's specific type of leukemia. With the money raised from this incredible organization, Lily is and will be a survivor because of the tireless efforts this charity has brought awareness to childhood cancer and the support of people like you!

My sons Peter and Charlie, and myself, will be joining this wonderful charity by shaving our heads on Saturday, March 5th at Bernie's in Chicago to continue to bring awareness to pediatric cancers. We will also be remembering the life of Danny O'Brien. Danny passed away in 2015 at 9 months old from a Rhabdoid tumor on his liver. Danny and his family are in our daily thoughts and prayers and have supported our family since Lily's initial diagnosis. We are forever grateful for their unconditional love and support.

Finally, we are incredibly fortunate to report today that Lily is a strong, healthy and vibrant six-year-old who is loving 1st grade and keeping up with her two older brothers. Please help support St. Baldrick and its mission to help end pediatric cancer.
