Hello friends and family! By now you know why I've brought you here. Over the last 5+ years, you have helped fund life saving grants and together we have raised over $10,000 through this page. Let that sink in for a moment. Together, you have raised $10k and I can't thank you enough for all your efforts. These grants are utilized by researchers and doctors all over the world, including many hospitals that you are probably familiar- Baystate Medical Center/Baystate Children's Hospital, University of Massachusetts, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Boston's Children's Hospital, Mass General, Boston University, Brigham and Women's, Conneticut Children's Medical Center, Yale New Haven, UCONN, St. Jude's, and counless others.
While I can't adequately put into words what you support means to me over the years, the unfortunate reality is that children's cancer research remains vastly underfunded with only 4% of National Cancer Institute's budget allocated towards children's cancer. We have made great progress in treating children's cancer, but there is still so much work to do. More children die each year from childhood cancer than any other disease and of those who are lucky enough to survive, two-thirds will have long term effects from treatment. These effects include loss of hearing and sight, heart disease, secondary cancers, learning disabilities, infertility and more.
So, once again, I'm shaving my head and beard at our annual event at The Hanger in Amherst on March 29th to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers and I am asking for your support. Please donate what you can, and join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together. Any donation is appreciated and I encourage you to navigate the site to learn more about St. Baldrick's and all the good they do. If you want to get involved, please feel free to reach out for more information.
As always, I truly appreciate your support and hope to make this year's fundraiser the best yet! Thank you!
