I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research and in honor of my son, Quinn, who is bravely fighting osteosarcoma as we speak! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers.
We are participating in this specific shave event to honor two of Quinn's new friends that he met at the Vice Presidents roundtable this past March. These two young people have done an amazing job raising funds to support research for osteosarcoma which is severely underfunded.

Mission:
To Fund the Osteosarcoma Collaborative and St Baldrick’s Grant to Cure Osteosarcoma in honor of Olivia Egge and John Varney
Join us for a special afternoon where Shavers and Life Savers from the local community will Brave the Shave.
Proceeds from this fun-filled afternoon will directly fund the $1.5 million Osteosarcoma Collaborative St. Baldrick's Grant to Cure Osteosarcoma. This is your grant -- the largest of its kind dedicated to osteosarcoma -- and it was founded and raised by you and this community at this annual event over the last two years!. After a rigorous competition the grant was awarded last summer to a team of pediatric oncologists lead by Dr. Alex Huang at Case Western University School of Medicine. We have raised $900,000 of our total target and started funding the first year of a 3-year research program last November so your contributions are already fast at work to cure an aggressive cancer that impacts kids and teens and has seen no new approved treatments since the advent of chemotherapy 40 years ago. Dr. Huang, thanks to you, is opening a clinical trial for a drug that helps reduce the chance cancer cells continue to “fake out” a patient’s immune system, and is separately designing an adaptive cell therapy treatment that fights tumor cells directly. You are leading the way in osteosarcoma because thanks to this incredible effort there is another one following your lead, this time in the San Francisco area, to fund a second substantial, community based grant to cure osteosarcoma. We have $600,000 left to raise. That is the amount we raised last year so we know we can do it if we all pitch in, have fun, and keep the urgent need we are filling top of mind. You are the best!
