I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: #teamjoeyhoncz

Friends & Family,

For the fourth year in a row, I will be "braving the shave" to raise money (& awareness) in the fight against pediatric cancer! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded.

As a childhood cancer survivor myself, I know first hand the importance of doing research to develop protocols and drugs specific for childhood cancer. I'm tired of losing friends to this horrible disease... Sawyer, Frances, Maddie, Connor, Danni, Marik and many more... and watching some of my friends still fighting...Derek, Charlie, Louis and again, many more...Did you know:

• Every day, 43 children are diagnosed with cancer.

• 12% of children diagnosed with cancer do not survive.

• Children’s cancer affects all ethnic, gender and socio-economic groups.

• The average age of children diagnosed is six.

• More than 40,000 children undergo treatment for cancer each year.

• 60% of children who survive cancer suffer late-effects, such as infertility, heart failure and secondary cancers.

• There are approximately 375,000 adult survivors of children’s cancer in the United States. That equates to 1 in 530 adults ages 20-39.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. Even if you can't donate, please share my page with your family and friends so at a minimum we can raise awareness for childhood cancer!
