I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

This is my eleventh consecutive year participating in a St. Baldricks event. I have been fortunate enough in my life to be able to reach many milestones (such as becoming a Bar-Mitzvah, starting high school, and living to become a teenager) without having to go through the pain that these kids do. One of the primary reasons that I participate in these events is because of the personal relevance. I have many family members who have suffered from cancer, both past and present. Almost all of the names of the children I am honoring share a name with family members I have lost or the type of cancer of family members who have also been affected by cancer. Though I looked for everyone I knew, there were some people, such as my grandfather Vero Aloia, whom I couldn't find. This event means so much to me, and I am proud to have been doing it for so long. One of my biggest heroes, a man named Sir Nicholas Winton, once said this, "I have a motto that if something isn’t blatantly impossible, then there must be a way of doing it." This quote is one that I try to live by. It's why I do St. Baldricks every year. Curing childhood cancer isn't impossible, and St. Baldricks is one of the best ways to meet (and defeat) this challenge in our world today. With this, I ask you to please donate to my page in order to help change the world! Thank you for your support!

Gratefully,

Jake
