I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Gia

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Gia

Gia's Daddy and 4 year old brother will be shaving their heads for this St. Baldrick's Foundation event to raise money that goes directly to RESEARCH for Childhood Cancer to find CURES. Childhood Cancer is the given the least amount of funding out of all of the cancers for RESEARCH that finds CURES. I have read that with the NEEDED FUNDING, a CURE could be found in the next 10 years. A Permanent "CURE" currently does not exist and the treatments used are outdated and geared for adults leading to short and long term side effects that can be fatal. If you don't want to SHAVE your head, that's ok, make a LIFE-SAVING DONATION. I ask that you do so in honor of my hero, Gia Smith age 2 1/2 and a Childhood Cancer SURVIVOR. She is 11 months cancer-FREE as of 1/21/12. She has survived a monster called, Rhabdomyosarcoma. We call ourselves Team Gia. We fight for a CURE 4 GIA and a CURE 4 ALL. We fight for all of our Teammates, those currently in treatment, those out of treatment as SURVIVORS and those that have earned angel wings in heaven. We NEVER EVER GIVE UP.

My Roles:

  • Shavee
  • Team Captain

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
