I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research

What could possibly be more important than saving the life of a child?

At our event, some folks will shave their heads – and others like me will keep the hair we have and put our hearts into supporting childhood cancer research.During the pandemic, donations have been down sharply, which is a big deal since the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is the largest non-government supporter of childhood cancer research grants.

I want to make sure kids know we care. I want more research to save lives. I have chosen $2500 as my personal goal because my daughter has been in remission for 25 years--she was diagnosed at the age of 12 with high risk, poor prognosis leukemia. I know first hand how clinical trials and research save lives.

If I raise $500, I will walk 2 miles. At $1500 I will register and walk in a 5k, if I reach $2000 I will match that donation, and at $2500, I will walk 5 miles. Maybe that is not a big deal to a lot of you. But for me, I have health issues of my own and walking any distances is very painful. Sure it will be hard, but compared to fighting cancer as a kid, or being a mom watching my own child suffer,  walking will be a piece of cake.

Please support me with a donation.  Thank you!
