I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Katherine

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Katherine

My name is Todd Goodfellow. My niece, Katherine D, was diagnosed with ALL at the age of 3, 16 years ago. During her extensive chemo treatment, she told me that her doctor, Joe McNamara, was speaking at an event to raise money for childhood cancer research. When a three-year-old asks her uncle if he would meet her doctor and have his head shaved in honor of her and help all children like her going thru this, no was never an option. This was my introduction to Team Brent, the McCreesh family, and St. Baldrick’s. The following year my cousin Chris Calise, and friend Pedro Pires joined me with the same love in their heart and we became Team Katherine. Laverna Ford joined us 8 years ago in honor of her father who had joined the team but passed unexpectedly before the next event and her passion is just as strong. Chris and Pedro’s sons have now joined the team. Katherines’ older sister has shaved 4 times and her cousins throughout the years along with other family and friends here and there. This is how and when I got involved with St. Baldrick’s. Fast forward 15 years, I am proud to say that Team Katherine has raised over $80000 dollars throughout the years and is still going strong.

I'm shaving my head with St. Baldrick's to raise money and help conquer kids' cancers! Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive.

I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids.

Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive.
