I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research
Over the past four years, I have been shaving my hair off each March to raise money to help assist families with children who have cancer and to help fund research to find a cure. Although I have done this four times before in Hong Kong, I have never shaved internationally. In July I moved to San Diego and none of my friends here have seen me bald. I'm aware this year is going to be a bit harder because none of my friends are doing it with me as they did at Hong Kong International School but it's a good cause. I started out in third grade doing this because my best friend Arjun and I thought it was the right thing to do. Now that I'm older and understand it more, I realize how scary it is for the kid with cancer. Every 2 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide, and 1 in 5 of those in the U.S. will not survive. I refuse to accept this reality, so I’ve decided to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments for kids. I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
Be it known to all that this participant has dedicated at least three years of service to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation helping kids with cancer throughout all the land.
St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids
Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
