I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Rhysalicious

I helped to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Rhysalicious

Hi, I'm Rhys (pronounced rees) and I am raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers and childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded.

I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) just a few weeks before my 6th birthday. It's been 2 years since my diagnosis and I am now doing well in maintenance therapy. The last 2 years I've spent the weeks leading up to my 6th and 7th birthdays in the hospital, but this year is different. I have been healthy, able to attend school, gymnastics, swim lessons and drama classes, and my parents even planned a birthday party for me (my first ever!). In Chinese tradition, the number 8 is a lucky number because it sounds a lot like, "fa," which means grow and thrive (literally, to prosper). I am definitely one of the lucky ones because treatment for my form of pediatric leukemia has been fairly well-supported by research for the past few decades. I have grown a couple of inches this past year, am definitely thriving, and for my 8th birthday, I hope to raise $8000 for St. Baldricks Foundation to support research in children's cancer treatments.

Now I need your help! Will you make a donation? For extra good luck, make it a multiple of 8! Your donation will fund life-saving research that gives children diagnosed with cancer the chance to live and prosper.
