I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Anya

I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research with: Team Anya

I started volunteering with St. Baldrick's in 2013, shortly after I found out that my mom was sick. If you've dealt with the grief that comes with a cancer diagnosis, you understand the helpless feelings that come along with it. So I started to do research about her cancer, then cancer...then childhood cancer.

Did you know that only 4% of federal grant funding for cancer research goes toward childhood cancer? And childhood cancer needs different treatments from adult cancers.

I needed to do something, so I worked with Dr. Tomboc (an amazing pediatric oncologist!) to start the Phoenix Metro chapter of St. Baldrick's Day. We shaved our heads, and raised some money!

Now, I need your help to raise more funding for childhood cancer research. We need to make a difference in these kids' lives. I was devastated by the loss of my mom. I am still deeply angry that cancer took her life. And I cannot imagine the deep loss and anger that must permeate through the lives of parents whose children are affected by childhood cancer. We need to do something.
