I'm shaving my head to raise money for childhood cancer research! In the past few years cancer has touched people that I care about in so many ways. A girl that I was her troop leader in elementary school went off to college at the age of 18 and within two months of her first semester she was diagnosed with leukemia. About 2 years later my father’s best friend died of cancer. Lastly, this past summer my best friend and her mother were both diagnosed with cancer on the same day. So this is a topic that hits so very close to my heart.
My personal goal is to raise $1000. My 14 year old son (in the picture with me) says that if I raise $1500 he will join me in shaving his head for childhood cancer research. Please consider helping just a bit more so that he will be by my side on March 14, 2020 as we both show our support for this great cause.
Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? It's true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures. Even though I have not had a child close to me have their life affected by cancer, this research is still vitally important to me.
The children that can be saved through this research might just be the ones that end up finding out how to do so much more. Every dollar makes a difference for the thousands of infants, children, teens, and young adults fighting childhood cancers. These fighters deserve a chance to live as normal a life as you or I. So I need your help!
