Welcome to my fundraising webpage, I am so happy you are here!
This is my 4th time 'going under the buzzer' for St. Baldrick's (you can read more about my story below) and one of the dearest to my heart because this year I am again honoring Peyton Arens, the son of one of my school mates, Katie Van Valkenburgh Arens & her husband Jim Arens. Peyton was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in January 2013, and although Peyton lost his battle with cancer, Katie and her family continue to be advocates for childhood cancer awareness and research.

About me:
I've been bald before. As an adult cancer survivor, I know what it is like to get such a frightening diagnosis. I know what it is like to go through chemo and all the ugly side effects, like nausea, fatigue, and yes, losing your hair.
What I don't know is what it is like to go through that as a kid, or what it is like as a parent to watch your child go through cancer.
Years ago I met a very brave young fellow survivor of Hodgkin's who challenged me to shave my head, and now I'm doing it again, for the fourth time! I am shaving my head to honor the friends and family I have lost to cancer, those going through it now, and to stand in solidarity with kids fighting cancer.
More importantly, I am shaving my head to raise money to find cures, because there are much worse things to lose than your hair.
The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.
Now I need your support! Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s #DFYchildhoodCancers together.
