I shaved to raise money for childhood cancer research

Update 3/30 - Happy St. Baldrick's Shave Day!

Today I was able to donate 12 inches of hair to Wigs for Kids, and have officially raised $900 for The St. Baldrick's Foundation. What an exciting day and month it has been!

Thanks again to all my wonderful friends and family for your donations and unwavering support. And to all the courageous fighters and survivors who never cease to amaze me with their strength, you inspire me today and every day ❤️

3/1 - Hey People of Earth!!

Did you know that kids' cancers are different from adult cancers? And that only 4% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget is dedicated solely to childhood cancers? The St. Baldrick's Foundation is taking steps to change these facts by working with pediatric oncologists to fund promising childhood cancer research projects, increase access to more high-impact clinical trials, and develop programs for supportive care (just to name a few).

Why am I telling you this? Because during the month of March I will be raising money for childhood cancer research and, in classic St. Baldrick’s fashion, shaving my head. I'm shaving my head in support of my dear friend Kim, my grandpa Al, my aunt Helga and my most loving mom, and in memory of my grandma Marie-Jose, my grandpa Eugene, and my grandma Betty. I'll also be donating my hair to Wigs For Kids (https://www.wigsforkids.org/), another rad organization, before shaving my head.

While the head shaving and hair donation are on me, I’m relying on your generosity to help me reach my fundraising goal of $250 dollars before March 30th. If I reach my goal of $250, not only will I still shave my head, but I’ll donate an additional $80 to round out the funds to $330 for 03/30.

So, who’s in?

UPDATE (3/9):

WOW I’m floored by the generosity of all my wonderful human friends. Somehow, with more than 20 days remaining of my fundraiser, I’ve already reached my goal of $250 (with my additional 80, that makes $330!!).

Given that there are still over 20 days remaining in my fundraiser, I’ve decided to raise my goal to $500.

Thanks again to all who have donated, plan to donate or have reached out with kind words! I’m feeling very grateful and lucky to know so many exceptional human beings ❤️

UPDATE (3/20):

Once again I’m blown away by the generosity of my friends and family, and am excited to say I’ve reached my $500 fundraising goal! This is incredibly awesome.

However, the closer we get to $1000, the closer we get to funding a full clinical trial for a childhood cancer patient in need. How amazing would that be? So while I’m not officially changing my fundraising goal, I encourage you to share this, donate if you haven’t yet and let’s fund a kiddo’s clinical trial!

Thanks again friends, grateful for you all.

**If you don’t think St. Baldricks is the best charity for you, I still encourage you to spread the love elsewhere today, tomorrow and everyday :) **
