The Story Behind This Hero Fund

Welcome to the JC Strong Hero Fund, where we are Stronger Together to help fight Ewings Sarcoma Relapse. Our mission is to fund research and trials for Ewings Sarcoma Relapse and bring awareness to Ewings Sarcoma and childhood cancer.

On July 28, 2023 life was forever changed for my family. My 5 year old son Jackson was diagnosed with a Ewings Sarcoma on his left fibula. He underwent 14 cycles of aggressive chemotherapy and resection surgery on his left leg where they took the tumor and the top half of his fibula. He spent 69 nights in the hospital over the course of his 8 months of treatment. On April 22, 2024 Jackson rang the bell, signifying the end of treatment. He has scans every 3 months and is currently enjoying life being a cancer free 7 old year!

I knew I wanted to do something to help change the future of Ewings Sarcoma. I spent many of the days in the hospital thinking of what I could do to help and how I could make a difference. As Jackson started to wrap up chemotherapy the reality and fear of a possible relapse started to creep into my mind. Soon, he was not going to be seen by Doctors and Nurses on a regular basis and not be on active treatment. What was going to happen was unknown and it was terrifying to realize. It was then that I decided I wanted to raise money for Ewings Sarcoma Relapse research because in the event that Jackson did experience a relapse I needed to know that I had done what I could to help find something to work against it. This Fund was created for all kids currently battling Ewings in any form with the hope to make a difference for treatment.

Jackson- your bravery and strength are my inspiration to do whatever I can to help make a difference in this world. With you by my side I know we can accomplish this goal!
