UPDATE: We've had someone step forward and offer to match your donations dollar for dollar up to $500! Your dollars can do double duty and get us to our $1000 goal.
I know the world has been turned upside down and nothing feels the same. But one thing hasn't changed. Kids still need cures for cancer. I looked for a St Baldrick's kid to honor on this fundraising page. And when I looked for kids who had the same cancer as Hawk (AML-M7), there were very few survivors, almost none. That tells me we still have a long way to go. I refuse to accept this reality, so we’re continuing our Hawk Walk tradition, and rallying others to fundraise for lifesaving research to find cures and better treatments.
Kelly, Steven and I will do our own informal half-marathon Saturday morning September 19. I wish we could all gather as we used to, but since we can't, I ask you to go out and hold your own mini-Hawk Walk. It doesn't matter where, it doesn't matter how far you go, and it doesn't matter how slow you may be. It can be a walk around the block or a full marathon. It can be this Saturday, or anytime in the next couple of weeks. Send us some pics of your Hawk Walk and we'll share them here. It'll be nice to see some familiar faces that we miss seeing.
And please consider making a donation if you can. Your donation can fund research to help kids survive and thrive. Join me today and let’s kick cancer's ass.
Until we meet again, I hope you and your loved ones are all healthy and doing well.
