The Norsemen Go Bald

Greetings,

Newark High School has teamed up with St. Baldrick’s to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer.  This is a fantastic charity that Newark High School would like to support.  We are asking the students to participate and hope you will as well!

If every student raises $10.00, we will reach our goal of $1500.00.  Would you please encourage your student to join in?  On Friday, March 23, we have some fun things planned as part of this event.  We will have a Dodge Ball Tournament in the morning, followed by the Shave Event from 12:30-1:30pm.  The community is welcome to come and watch the shave event!

We also have some fun things going on leading up to the 23rd. “Pizza Wars” have begun!  Each SRT class has a collection cup in their room where they’re able to donate their extra change.  The SRT with the most cash in their cup wins (they must raise $30.00 or more).

Next week we will start some penny/silver wars. Some brave staff members have volunteered to shave their heads. They will be announced next week, along with some other information.

We are selling St. Baldrick’s bracelets to students, staff and community for $5. With that $5 donation you will get a bracelet and a St. Baldrick’s donation circle. It will be put up on the social work bulletin board in the lunch room. You can put anybody’s name on it. Some people have put their own name and others have put people they know who have had Cancer. It’s up to you. All the proceeds go to St. Baldrick’s.

Whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you’ll be part of the excitement!  St. Baldrick’s is a wonderful organization and we’d really like for this to be a success.  Funding childhood cancer research is so important, even if it doesn’t affect you directly.  So, get involved with St. Baldrick’s today and together we can take childhood back from cancer!

Thank you

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
