Noda Brewing Co.

Hello, I am the volunteer event organizer for the St. Baldrick's event at NODA Brewing Company on September 19, 2015. My name is Jamie and I first became involved with the St. Baldrick's foundation in 2012 after my niece, Leah Anderson, was diagnosed with a inoperable brain stem tumor.

Leah endured several rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and clinical trials but none were effective in eradicating the tumor. Possibly the only thing more devastating than the prognosis for Leah's type of cancer was the limited number of options available for treatment and the lack of funding that pediatric cancer research receives.

During Leah's radiation we watched all of her long, beautiful, blonde hair disappear. It was then that I was inspired to shave my head in support of Leah and to prove to her that  while bald is not the "normal" for girls her age, bald is beautiful!!

Leah earned her angel wings in December of 2012, just shy of one year after diagnosis. Our bald heads were one of our most important bonds and it was then that I vowed to work with St. Baldrick's to honor Leah's life and raise money for pediatric cancer research.

Please join this St. Baldrick's event. Whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we will be a part of a movement dedicated to ridding the world of the effects of this horrible disease on children.

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government.

Get involved and you will be giving hope to infants, children, teens and young adults fighting childhood cancers.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
