Lowcountry Bald

The Few. The Proud. The Bald. Be a hero for kids with cancer!

This is our third year putting on Lowcountry Bald in Charleston. Our goal is bold: $100,000.  In our first year, 14 shavees raised $21,056. Last year, 40 shavees, including 7 women and 3 kids, raised an amazing $55,948. Please join us. Whether you decide to shave your head, volunteer, or donate, we hope you'll be a part of the excitement!

The St. Baldrick's Foundation is a volunteer-powered charity that funds more in childhood cancer research grants than any organization except the U.S. government:
   - More children are lost to cancer than any other disease in the U.S. Every 2 minutes a kid is diagnosed with cancer – 300,000 children worldwide each year.
  - Since 2005, St. Baldrick’s has made 1,358 grants in 27 countries, totaling over $253M.
  - St. Baldrick's funds a part of virtually every phase III pediatric oncology trial giving more children the opportunity to receive cutting-edge treatment.
  - In 2018, 36,000 people shaved their heads at 1,000 events raising $32M for childhood cancer research.
  - MUSC and their dedicated team of childhood cancer researchers have received over $340,000 in grants from St. Baldrick’s.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
