Krafty's Burgers and Brews

Robert Stapelton and Suzy Kochik are pleased to announce the 2017 Krafty’s Burgers & Brews St. Baldrick’s event.  They are back, refreshed and ready for you to experience a new St. Baldrick’s event in Garner, NC!  Robert, the owner of Raleigh’s former Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub and 10 year St. Baldrick’s host, opened Krafty’s Burgers & Brews over a year ago.  He is ready to host a fun filled afternoon with Suzy Kochik, the organizer of the Raleigh Napper Tandy’s event for 7 years.

This will be a free, family-friendly event.  Activities will include playing on inflatables, shavees shaving their heads for charity, purchasing St. Baldrick’s souvenirs, enjoying a delicious bite to eat and – most importantly – raising funds for childhood cancer research.  The Krafty’s Burgers & Brews St. Baldrick’s Fundraiser will take place Saturday, March 11 from 2:00-6:00 pm, at 1177 Timber Drive East in Garner, NC.

Krafty’s Burgers and Brews will host this event to raise money for life-saving children’s cancer research through The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.

Why all the shaved heads?  Worldwide, more than 160,000 children are diagnosed with cancer each year, and it remains the leading cause of death by disease among children in the United States. With only four percent of all federal cancer research funding dedicated to pediatric cancer research, The St. Baldrick’s Foundation grant funds are critical to continue the battle against childhood cancer.

From 2007 to 2013, over 2,700 men, woman and children shaved their heads at Raleigh Napper Tandy’s, raising over $1.6 million for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation.  The Napper Tandy’s event ranked in the top ten of the St. Baldrick’s events worldwide.

We continue to honor Eve Griffith, age 9, as our Honored Kid.  Eve was diagnosed at age two with Wilms tumor, a type of pediatric kidney cancer that is often fatal, and treated at Duke’s pediatric hematology-oncology unit. She currently has no evidence of the disease.

Krafty’s Burgers & Brews is located in the White Oak Shopping Center, providing ample free parking in front and behind the venue.

St. Baldrick’s Honored Kids

Kids with cancer are our reason for it all. They’re the inspiration behind our event and the reason we’re helping fund childhood cancer research. We believe all kids should be able to grow up and turn their dreams into realities. Join our event or make a donation, and click the photos below to read their incredible stories.
