Whatever the crisis, whatever the emergency, members of the Chicago Police Department and the Chicago Fire Department are there, running to the rescue. Committed to serve those in need, we have also become strong advocates for our most innocent victims – kids with cancer – and since 2007 have been shaving our heads to raise much needed funds for childhood cancer research.
Both our departments have proudly partnered with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, raising a total of more than $1,100,000 in our separate events. Alongside our friends, family and community members, we have banded together and shaved heads to save lives, baldly standing in solidarity with the kids who often lose their hair in the course of their treatment.
Separately, we have done amazing things for kids with cancer, but in 2014 we are committed to do more. Chicago’s First Responders are joining forces in the mission to Conquer Childhood Cancers. Whether you participate at our event at our newly combined headquarters on Michigan avenue, or one of our events in the North or South districts, please join us so that more kids can have a chance for a long and healthy life.
