Formerly known as the St. Baldrick’s – Stand Up to Cancer Pediatric Cancer Dream Team, this team is now the St. Baldrick’s EPICC Team (Empowering Pediatric Immunotherapies for Childhood Cancer).

The St. Baldrick’s — Stand Up To Cancer Pediatric Dream Team’s innovative and collaborative approach to science is making huge impacts in the world of childhood cancer research.

In just six-years, with your support, the Dream Team has sped up the development of new therapies for childhood cancers, using the power of the immune system. These new treatments reduce side effects, increase survival rates and improve the quality of life for survivors. The Dream Team has become a global “discovery engine” that has fueled immunotherapy research worldwide.

Going beyond the early progress in leukemias, the Dream Team has now shown that immunotherapy can treat and likely cure even the most aggressive solid tumors in childhood, even brain tumors.

They’ve developed ways to deal with the most common toxicities which helped gain FDA approval for a ground-breaking immunotherapy CAR T cell therapy. This first gene therapy approved in the U.S. resulted in 83% of some of the toughest-to-treat leukemia patients going into remission within three months.

The impact of the researchers and patient advocates of the Dream Team will be felt far into the future. St. Baldrick’s supporters can be proud of this ground-breaking research.
