I will love you forever and ever. All the time I think about how it would be without you here, but I never could, because that topic is beyond imagination. I would also like to wish you the best birthday of your life. Since you didn’t have a Sweet 16, let’s try to give you a Sweet 17.
One of the many reasons that I love you is because as an individual, singular person, you have touched so many people. When you were in treatment and fighting cancer, you were winning in a way I didn’t even know was possible. When you destroyed cancer, in a righteous battle, you inspired me to try and raise more money this year than last year. You are my sister. You are the only one I will ever get. So I don’t want you to lose. Keep fighting on with the greatest power in the universe, the love of your family.
I should be the most scared in the family — you survived middle school, so I need your help to get through it, and I need to know what to do and what not to do. (I mean, with the things I say, I would probably be beat senseless by the 7th and 8th graders…)
Emily, I will love you forever, and even when we fight — well, what siblings don’t fight?
Emily Rose Magilnick, I will love you and help you for the rest of your life and mine.
Happy 17th Birthday!
Your brother, who will love you forever,
Follow in Max’s footsteps and get involved to help kids and teens with cancer just like Emily.
